The Ontario Ministry of Education has licensed Quillsoft’s WordQ version 3, in both French and English, for Ontario’s publicly funded educational institutions for grades 3 - 10. “Educational Institutions” means all publicly funded elementary and secondary schools and school boards and educational programs operated by school boards throughout the Province of Ontario, and further includes First Nation and native schools in Ontario, operating under the Ontario educational curriculum as such curriculum may exist from time to time, publicly funded Faculties of Education and Ontario teacher training institutes; for greater certainty, the term “Educational Institutions” does not include private schools. In addition, it is agreed that each such Educational Institution shall have the right to make an
unlimited number of copies of WordQ in any format including but not limited to CD–ROM/DVD and magnetic diskette, such copies to be only for use by students, teachers and other educational personnel solely within such Educational Institution, for the educational, non–commercial purposes thereof. A copy may be borrowed by teachers, students and technicians for at–home preparation or class–related activities. The software is installed from a DVD.
